Derek Barwood Orthodontics is a Specialist Orthodontic surgery. Simple orthodontic cases can sometimes be treated by a general dentist but most cases require the expertise of an orthodontist. The first step is a consultation appointment at which Derek will examine your mouth and teeth and discuss with you the problems he finds and what can be done to move your teeth into a position with good occlusion. The key is moving teeth so that they will remain stable over a long period of time.
The next step is a ‘records’ appointment at which we take xrays, photos and impressions of your teeth. Derek then spends a period of time studying these and will devise an individualised treatment plan, which he will present to you along with a firm quote.
